I had assumed we would use the standard little stick w rubber tip thingy attached to the baseboard. The contractor pointed out that the door casings are so large that these aren't going to be long enough and we'll be pulling the doors off their hinges or something? He's suggested we use the those ugly things you put into the floor. I don't know why putting anything in the floor makes me cringe, but it does. What have those of you out there used? More»

I have a pocket door to my powder room with the very standard latch pictured here - which is very unreliable in a household with a toddler. Does anyone have suggestions or sources for a better piece of hardware? I could dummy up a slide bolt or even hook and eye but am hoping for a more sophisticated solution. Thanks in advance. More»

Hi All! Happy New Year! I am in the process of putting down a new floor over the old one. I have to cut the exisiting metal front doors so the floor and the saddle can fit. Does any one know a place where I can take the doors and get them cut on site? I have a station wagon and can haul them over, but I don't want to be without front doors for any period of time. All thoughts would be greatly appreciated!kc More»
