  • New Super Graffiti?

The glass on our front door was tagged last night. It looked sort of like spray paint so we bought two different cans of graffiti paint remover thinking it would come right off (especially with glass). Much to our dismay, neither graffiti removal formula had much of an effect on this stuff at all. We even tried lighter fluid. We've used rags, paper towels, an abrasive pad and a new flat razor blade. Nothing has really worked. It's almost as if whatever the SOB used had a strong acid component and the glass has been slightly etched!Does this sound famil...  More»

The house number lab products are beautiful, but I needed a cheaper option. Take a look at this website, scroll down to the transom number information: http://rowhousecreative.blogspot.com/2007/09/painted-brick-rowhouse-finished.html Hand-painting the numbers seems like a great do-it-yourself alter...... See More »
  • glass dynamix?

Hello - wondering if anyone has experience with an NY/NJ based shower/glass company called Glass Dynamix? If so - thoughts? They're coming in cheaper than other quotes, which is great, but I want to be sure they're up to the job. Alternatively - other suggestions? We need a glass shower door, several sliding panels and a few other things. Thanks!

  • Where to resilver original mirrors?

Our passthrough's original mirrors are lovely but clouded enough that they are no longer particularly functional. I'd like to have them resilvered by someone good (I understand that can be DIY but it's tricky, and I don't feel up to it.) I didn't see any references on the old or new forums, but am hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction.  More»

durability of glass tiles is pretty much forever. You shouldn't get any discoloration. The ceramic tile will yellow and crack long before the glass does. Keep your grout sealed (and reseal every year or so) - that's the weak link that can get funky over time. See More »
