I'm looking for an architect who has a good history of using recliamed resources and a green approach to rennovating a really interesting space that I'm bidding on. A lot of the bid depends on me being able to keep the rennovation costs down but I'm really more interested in working with someone who likes being scrappy and using reclaimed materials for ecological and budgetary reasons.

You don't talk at all about the scope of the work. Do you really need an architect who would be used primarily for redesign of the space, i.e. the floorplan or are you really more in need of an interior designer?

we had several conversations with Braude Pankiewicz and loved their firm... it was a rec from the forum (dean street reno I think) and I have to say the two principals, Thalia and Phil are great, good communicators, good listeners and very able to work on budget, and I liked their style a lot (not all about gutting for one thing). we put off our reno for next year (money reasons) but I would strongly recommend based on our interactions and their propsals. Did I mention they are incredibly prompt about communication? I tried calling another firm that does passive house stuff because I was curious and emails wouldn't be answered for days... not so with Thalia and Phillip.
this is their website http://www.bparc.com/login/, but you can't see much there without password. As I recall took about 3 minutes to reach one of them and get lots of info about their firm and past projects soon after.
