Hi,
My wife and I are renovating a 4 story brownstone in Bed Stuy. I am wondering if anyone out there has installed a central air system (ducted) without having to create soffits. I really dont want to go with wall mounted units and a ductless system. However, I am being told that ducting will not fit in my walls. I believe we have seven inches of space in the walls where ducting might run. I also read on this forum that it is generally a bad idea to run central air through the old forced air system. I feel stuck between a rock and a hard place. I hope there is somebody out there who has pulled this off. Thanks a mil.
