boiler inspection & maintenance

Hi,
We recently purchased a 3 family in upper manhattan, converted from oil to gas & are now looking for a boiler company to do necessary inspections & annual maintenance. Any recommendations? What is reasonable cost?

    If you purchase boiler insurance (sometimes comes with a multi-family policy), the company that insures the boiler typically does the annual NYC mandated inspections at no cost.

    you shouldn't need annual inspections (at least in terms of filing with DOB -- your own peace of mind is a different story!) with a 3 family - the rule re: annual inspections is 6 family or above.

    To assist with maintenance planning, the National Board's violation tracking statistics are available on its website (link provided below). Statistics indicate that the majority of violations reported were in the boiler controls, components and piping areas. Proper inspection and regular routine maintenance are necessary to assure uninterrupted, reliable and safe boiler operation.
