Can anyone recommend a carpenter or cabinet maker to build a kitchen island?

    Most islands are made out of cabinets that you order and you can get a large piece of matching wood for the "back"   Then you just put the counter on top.  No actual "construction"

    A "kitchen island" is called a kitchen island because, if you consider your kitchen to be like a body of water (metaphorically speaking), it's like an island in the middle of all that water. I do not know who conceived the idea of putting an island in a kitchen, but it's a pretty good idea if you're looking to optimize your kitchen space.
