plumbing work done that was not on the plan

11:37 AM 04/11/2012

Got the plumbing write off on the C of O. Plan inspector came and noticed there was additioanl plumbing work done but it wasn't on the plan. How do I get that plumbing put on the plan without reopening the plumbing write off? I can't get the old plumber back to issue an LAA.
Any advice? Trying to get a C of O.

Most likely, you can revise your plans and the Schedule B, but will have to file a Post Approval Amendment, get it approved, and then you should be okay. Plan inspector will probably need to see the approval, and may even have to come back out to inspect. I don't think you need the plumber to be involved.

You will have a problem if this was all self certified as the PAA will generate an inspection and since it is closed up if the inspector shows up they may require it to be opened to see the rough connections.

    • Okay, well that's the fear. What about just removing that plumbing work so that it conforms to the plan? Can I just get any licensed plumber to do it? Will the plumber have to file paperwork? Thanks much.

    • Sorry, been away on vacation. I suppose the easy thing is to remove the plumbing so it conforms to the plan. I would think it would be more cost effective to hire a new plumber to take care of it.

I agree. Seems easier to remove it and then put it in correctly later. I wouldn't need the plumber to fill out any forms to remove it, since, it wasn't supposed to be on the plan right? Thanks.
