I just want to sing the praises of my carpenter, Darren. I used him on my Bed Stuy brownstone restoration and now he's working with me on a frame house in Rockaway. He is the King of Complicated Molding. Antique molding in unlevel areas...not a problem. I'm sure he's a whiz at new work too, but what has impressed me about him is his ability to work with old wood and plaster as not everybody can do that and do it well.
Darren also does framing and other carpentry stuff too, of course. He's only working weekends now as he does have a full time job with a company but he can get a crew together. One of his buddies is working with him on my job and he's every bit as skilled as Darren.
The only thing is this: Because I'm a hands on DIY Diva, I got a better price because I fill nail holes and clean up. So, do make sure that this is included in your price because I've never had him do it for me. I also supply his tools but he has his own.
