Library or Loft Ladder

3:35 PM 02/06/2012

Hi There,
We want to find a library or loft-type ladder for getting up into a loft storage area of our new apartment. It doesn't have to be as fancy as the one in he picture, but something that can stay in place and look better than your average carpentry ladder. I looked it up online and they seem very expensive - mostly custom made - especially with the wheels. If anyone has any ideas on where to buy a premade one or someone who makes them in Brooklyn area ,it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I did exactly this with a Putnam Ladder.  These guys are great and have old models that can be refinished to your taste.  Just google Putnam (in the city).  Good luck!

Check out Craigs list. There's someone in the East Village that has several oak ladders to sell and is asking $100 apiece. maybe one of them will work.
