    It's low end Chinese garbage.

    • I like Chicago Faucets (modern, commercial look) and Newport Brass for traditional style.

    • What recommendations do you have that fall in the low price range, say less than $200? And, at about what price point does it cease to be about function and much more about aesthetics?

At $200 or less, I prefer Delta.
Honestly, quality faucets that are well-styled and have a deep finish start at about $500 for a kitchen unit with a spray.
Some will inevitably disagree and say they love their $60 Home Depot faucet, but those are throw-away units that aren't serviceable, have a thin cheap finish and the water comes out all weird.

Delta is the way to go if you want quality for a price that won't bust you. They have some nice styles and finishes.
What MP said. You buy cheap, you get crap. Plus you can always get parts for your Delta faucet if need be. I have a SS finish Delta pull out in my kitchen. We love it. I paid $0.00 for it.
