Just put in an offer for a 3 Family Brownstone and need a recommendation for an expert home inspector who will comb the house top to bottom.  Any ideas?

We used Rich Perri ( http://www.richperri.com) for our home inspection last month.  He was amazing.  Explained everything in layman's term.  He took his time answering our questions.  Days after the inspection he was still prompt in getting back to us after questions kept arising.  He pointed out all the positive's and negatives of the house.  His report was detailed and was sent to us via PDF.  Shortly after we received the printed copy.  We leveraged his report to lower our asking price.

    • Thank you for the recommendation. Can either of you give advice about other pitfalls/items I should be aware of when purchasing a Brownstone? I already have a lawyer and an architect.

I used John Gromkoski for the home we just closed on. While in contract, I also had him do periodic checkups on work that was to completed by the seller.
His website is  http://www.preciseinspector-ny...nbsp;and he can be contacted @  (718) 514-3393. Before this house, I also had an inspection done by him on another property I was interested in last year.

These are the things that stand out
    * Very very detailed and thorough inspection
    * Very knowledgeable especially when it comes to building codes
    * Responds promptly to emails and is almost always available for questions on the phone
    * Performs thermal imaging and moisture readings
    * Easy to read and detailed reports. They can be ordered by floor or system
