Professional expert tiler

10:09 AM 04/16/2012

After spending almost $900.00 on  6x24 calacatta marble tiles and $300. on radiant floor heating for an area encompassing 36 square feet I need to rip it all out and start anew.  My "fingers in quotes" expert tiler laid tiles like he was bricking a chimney but with wider grout lines.  I literally can't sleep thinking about my dream bathroom that is now a nightmare. Okay now for my question.  Can anyone recommend a great expert tile person they have used that understands a modern esthetic.....no grout lines please.
Thanks

When you have found a tiler, be sure to specify that you want 5/8 inch grout lines (or whatever the size is you want). If the tiles come on mesh, there is nothing you can do to change the spacing. If they don't, the tiler uses plastic (temporary) spacers to your specifications. FYI I believe American Restoration Tile's old fashioned subway and hex tile (with a non-eased edge) comes on mesh with vintage small grout spacing but I could be wrong. Either that or they don't come on mesh at all. I don't believe they make marble tile, however.
