Does anyone know where I can buy Rehau Raupanel?
It looks like the best radiant subflooring solution to me

    Warmboard, available at Green Depot, is an excellent product.

    We installed Raupanel in our house and LOVE it.
    National Combustion used to sell it, but they no longer serve the residential market.  You can try calling Dan Orr there 718.2918400 and he may be able to give you a lead on where you can now purchase it.
    Good luck.

    I have hot water baseboard heat and am thinking about gutting a floor, including replacing the floors. Is warmboard or raupanel appropriate to use? Do I need greater hot water flow for radiant heat vs baseboard? I don't want to ask for trouble since I am not changing out the rest of the floors (or heating).

    • I would go with Raupanel. My understanding of WarmBoard is that it is better in a new build scenario. Since you cannot count on your existing floor joists to be properly spaced, you may run into trouble getting the WarmBoard to work well. Warmboard acts as both the radiant panel AND the structural subfloor. Raupanel in this instance, will give you more flexibility.Radiant floor heat in general uses a water at a lower temperature than your typical baseboard heaters. So you need to be able to modify the piping at the boiler to adjust for a lower temperature water for the radiant heat while still supplying the appropriate temperature for any other baseboard heaters you still have in the house. Talk with a plumber about this.

    Hi Augustiner and arch_tect, I just want to make you both aware that Warmboard has a panel that is non-structural and less expensive now than our subfloor panels.  Here is a link to them on our website: http://www.warmboard.com/wp-co...nbsp;
    Raupanel is certainly a quality product.  I believe Warmboard-R would be a good fit for you as well.  If you want to contact me directly to discuss in more detail, my contact information is in my profile.
