Prospect Lefferts Gardens

I am looking at prospective Brooklyn neighborhoods in which to purchase a house. Any info on Prospect Lefferts Gardens ... particularly close to the park? 
 
I will be exploring the area but would appreciate any first-hand info any member might share ... safety of neighborhood, services, water/sewer issues etc. Thanks.

    If you enter my name in the search space on the Brownstoner Home page you'll see lots of positive stuff about PLG, where I've owned a home since 1974.

      If you want to follow my rather vain suggestion of entering my name in the Home Page search function there are separate listings under "Bob Marvin" and "bobmarvin." And, of course, you can go to "Neighborhoods" on the Brownstoner Home Page and scroll down to PLG; I comment on almost all PLG-related threads in my self-appointed role as PLG Commissar for Agitprop :-)
