Greenpoint Brownstone

11:19 AM 02/19/2013

I want to stay in Greenpoint and am looking for a bronwstone to rent for $2,000-2,200. Is that realistic or am I dreaming?
I want to break my lease too because I'm so annoyed with apartment. What are the consequences of this? I have read my lease and there is no specific details.

You want to rent an ENTIRE brownstone for $2,200 or an apartment IN a brownstone?  If it's the later, your're probably dreaming (unless it's a crap apartment), if it's the former, you have no clue whatsoever and I wonder where you really live.  As for your lease, it's a legal contract for a fixed amount of money per month for a specific period of time.  If you unilaterally break the lease, your landlord is entitled to keep your deposit and seek payment of the rent for the entire remaining lease period.  There are very few circumstances under which a lease can be broken without recourse.
