Where to get Custom Marble Bathroom Sink Top

5:58 PM 02/03/2012

We want to get a marble or stone counter to replace a custom made tile counter that our bathroom sink is set into.  The tile top is fallen apart from water damage.
We probably need to have the vendor visit our apt to take measurements, so we can be sure that they will cut the exact hole to fit our existing sink bowl.  Any recommendations of where to go?

I had a good experience with Acme Marble (or is it Acme Stone?).  They are on 17th between 3/4th Aves.  They installed a small counter, with sink cutout for us and it is great.  They had a nice selection of remnants to choose from to help you save a little $$.

Swan Tile...one in Queens and one in East Village somewhere.  Very easy to work with and not expensive.  All marble contractors will require that they come and template.

SMC stone in Williamsburg. You may be able to get a lovely marble scrap, much less expensive that large piece. They will come to your house to take measurements and make a mock-up or model, then return in about a week to install.
