Looking for dryer repair

9:02 AM 07/07/2012

My old Kenmore gas dryer is no longer heating as much as it used to. I have cleaned the lines of lint but still no improvement. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance

Why did you clean the lines when you report the problem is with temperature?  How do you know the temperature went down?  Why didn't you check to see if the gas valve is open all the way?  (please don't say it is an electric dryer)  Are you jumping to a conclusion it is not as hot as it used to be because your clothes don't dry as fast?   Did you find a lot of lint in your line?  If so, you may not have enough exhaust pressure.  My customers often have dryers which are not installed according to manufacurer's spec.  The ducts are too long, too narrow, too twisted, or they have too many elbows.  Their clothes are drying slowly because the moisture and fumes are not being pushed out as fast as intended.  Did something change in your exhaust line?  If it is a gas dryer, I would be concerned not only about the miosture which may be leaking out in to your living space, but also the fumes.

As stated this is a gas dryer. It has been working fine for more than 16 years and now the clothes do not get as dry. I cleaned the exhaust lines as I had read that a buildup of lint could cause this problem but there was not a build up of lint

"working fine for over 16 years"  That's great, but with all that milage it's not surprising that you may need a repair of some kind.

I've used Accurate Appliance for all my repairs.. (718) 236-7718. Extremy reasonable fee for the visit, and they apply it to work done. They've fixed washer/ryer, fridge, stove.
