where can i take an a/c unit to have cleaned and tuned up?

pls recommend a shop or vendor that does window air conditioner tune ups/cleaning?

    I use J and R in Park Slope. They also store my ACS during the winter months.  A little costly but I have been satisifed with their service.  Actually, I got the recommendation for them from this website.

    if you have a garden hose a spray bottle of fantastic/409... spray both coils after removing the cover and a light hose spary washes them down.wash the area under the motor and oil the motor if you have red/yellow plugs on the 12 oclock position of the motor looking in. let it dry out in the sun and reinstall the cover.if it goes in the window that plastic acordian tracking is easy to remove 1/4 spin tight /nut driver might be worth it to by on..nd hang on a hook in your shop...or spend the money
