Looking for advice on existing boiler

8:36 PM 01/21/2013

We recently bought a house and are newbies at this... We have an older boiler that was originally for oil but converted to gas. It also has the hot water running through it rather than a separate hot water heater (sorry for the very cryptic description). Being apartment dwellers for a long time we don't know much about boilers and are looking for someone to assess the current state of the existing boiler, service it if necessary, and make any recommendations for upgrades. Seeking any recommendations... Thanks!

If you can afford them (they are on the higher side), Petri Plumbing is amazing.   I worked with a few different local companies and free lancers over the years for different types of projects in my 3 family building and have never been happier since I started using them (money notwithstanding).   They installed a new boiler for me, most recently (two years ago).
