Best Replacement Windows, Installer, etc.

11:43 PM 05/09/2012

I am looking for suggestions on replacement windows for a brick-filled frame, brownstone type house in Park Slpoe, mostly as to material (Wood, Vinyl, Aluminun) and a company to install them.  The exterior of the house is vinyl clapboard-style siding.  Thanks!!!

Great guys on the phone, great service, great pricing, great sense of humor and great crew.
Just used them very recently to replace the original (and horribly decayed) windows in my Brownstone.  Fast, efficient and clean.  Tenants are thrilled, as am I.

for me WindowsWeAre were freaking terrible! Had them replace windows on the back of my house and it was a disaster from the estimate on (measuring was the only postive).  i'm still waiting for them to fix some things they screwed up on the install last year...but i've given up. For the front of my place i plan on using bay ridge who i've heard are great (my neighbor had gorgeous installs recently).

I spoke to LWP Lucky Window Products, Windows Are We, New York Historic Windows, and Bay Ridge Windows. Of them all LWP and New York Historic Windows were the most responsive and knowlegeable. LWP was more affordable. Historic Windows specializes in Marvins. We are going with LWP but we haven't actually had the work done yet.

we used bay ridge windows for one window and one door. would never use them again. didn't keep the schedule they promised, didn't communicate about the delays and were annoyed when I complained.

I did a lot of research and discovered http://OnlyVinylWindows.com These guys have a lot of detailed pictures and information on both the Milgard and Simonton vinyl windows. They even have a coupon page to help save you money on your purchase. Well worth checking out.
